Set up your API keys in Settings. All keys are stored locally and never leave your machine.
LLM API Keys
Optional. Only needed for the AI Assistant feature.
OpenAI
Supported models:
- GPT-4o, GPT-4o Mini
- GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 Mini, GPT-4.1 Nano
- o3, o3 Mini, o4 Mini
- Custom model (enter any model ID)
Get your API key at platform.openai.com.
Anthropic
Supported models:
- Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Haiku 4.5, Claude Opus 4
- Custom model (enter any model ID)
Get your API key at console.anthropic.com.
Market Data
Required for fetching historical data from providers. You can also import CSV files without any API key.
Twelve Data
Supports stocks, forex, and crypto. Free tier includes 8 API calls per minute and up to 5,000 bars per request.

Alpaca
Supports US stocks and free crypto data. Good for US equity and crypto backtesting.

Kraken
Requires: API Key + API Secret
These keys are not needed for backtesting. They will be used once paper trading and live execution are implemented.
Privacy
All API keys are stored locally in an encrypted store on your machine. They are only sent directly to the provider APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Twelve Data, Alpaca) and are never transmitted to Augy servers or any third party.
